I cannot even begin to tell you guys how long this took...all the new tricks I tried to work with and the story-line development, not to mention the tedious chore of trying to figure out how many frames I had to delete before I could successfully export the GIF. One thing I'm a little upset about is the length, I looked at the details and it's 30 seconds long! I wanted to add more of a story-line to the beginning to organize the scene a bit more, but I think the title does it justice.
So, the inspiration for this came from a fanfiction I was writing and the music box version of Simple and Clean from Kingdom Hearts. Basically, the premise of the fanfiction was that Pitch cursed Jack's memories, so he doesn't really know the difference between dreams, memories, and nightmares. They're all intertwined in his mind. hehe...that rhymed...sorry, killed the moment All lies are based on truths, now it's just a matter of finding those truths in a sea of lies... So, every time he has these visions, or dreams, he gets these horrible "memory-migraines". When this happens, it means his vision will start to blur and he'll eventually pass out and forcibly fall into another "memory". When Toothiana finds his memory capsule, Pitch's black sand swirls around it, making it nearly impossible to approach it, none the less open it.
So this GIF was supposed to start out like this but due to both my rookie status with Photoshop and wanting to overextend the amount of frames to the point where I can't export it, I couldn't fit it in...
Rapunzel: I had an amazing dream!
Jack: A dream?
Rapunzel: Yeah! Haven't you ever heard of one!
Jack: No.
Rapunzel: Well, it's when you see pictures when you sleep.
Jack: *shifts backwards in shock* Why would you want one of those!?!
*Then it merges with the GIF you see above
I actually wrote the fanfiction on my phone back in December, but I finally rallied up the courage to try this, especially on the intimidating program that is Photoshop. I'm pretty proud of it if I do say so myself! This is my first self-made manip! whewww!
